City center arson suspect caught on camera, Windsor police say

Windsor police are hoping the public can help identify a person who was recorded setting a fire at a downtown business premises.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday. Firefighters and police responded around 12:25 am to an active fire in the 200 block of Ouellette Avenue.

Nobody was hurt. The business premises were damaged by the flames.

An investigation into the incident determined the fire was arson.

A surveillance camera at the target location recorded an individual police believe to be responsible.

He is described as a white male who appears to be in his 20s. He has a medium build and brown hair. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a black winter coat with a hood and black pants.

Anyone with information on this suspect is encouraged to contact investigators. Property owners in the area equipped with surveillance cameras are asked to review their recordings for more potential evidence.
