RBC Mobile iOS app now allows you to report missing cards and get replacements

RBC Mobile for iOS was recently updated to allow customers to report missing cards, directly in the app and avoiding a call to the bank. “Now you can report your missing card directly in the app. Doing so will notify RBC, block the card, allow you to review unusual transactions and receive a new card at home, ”explains RBC. The new self-service option for reporting and blocking cards will reduce foot traffic and calls to RBC during COVID-19. RBC also says that it "fixed known issues with Interac e-Transfer, Bill Pay, and Request Money," while now you can also open a direct investment account in the app through your TFSA, RRSP, or unregistered investment account. RBC to buy 31,500 megawatt-hours of solar energy per year

The Royal Bank of Canada is partnering with Bullfrog Energy to buy solar energy to help the bank reach its climate goals. RBC is planning to buy 31,500 megawatt-hours of energy every year, which is enough to power 2,600 homes, according to Bloomberg. This contract is even enough to support the construction of two new solar farms in Alberta. These farms are slated to be some of the largest in Canada and are proposed to generate 80,000 megawatt-hours per year once they’re completed in April. Bloomberg also reports that the farms are slated to inject $70 million CAD into the Alberta economy.
