Navigating Toronto will now be a little easier. The Bike Share Toronto Electric Bike Pilot Program with Pedal Assist will officially begin Wednesday when the bikes are added to the docks. The program was announced earlier this summer as part of its 2020 expansion and will include 300 electric bikes and 10 charging stations. There will be no additional cost to use e-bikes instead of regular bikes and they can be docked at any station. Bike Share also brings back Free Ride Wednesdays in September, where cyclists can check out a free bike for a 30-minute period every Wednesday. The Toronto city council recently voted in favor of a plan to expand the city's cycling network, with 120 kilometers of new bike lanes to be built over the next three years.
