1988 BMW M3 with 8,000-mile odometer auctions for US$250,000

A fun game to play with your gearhead buddies is spitballing what might be the Next Big Thing in collector car circles. Fox-body Mustangs and the Integra Type R have recently become popular fodder for such conversations. Now, thanks to a sky-high auction price, we can go ahead and add the vaunted BMW M3 to that list.Specifically, the E30-gen M3, an example of which just hammered away for a quarter-million bucks. Bearing just 8,000 miles on its Bavarian odometer, this M3 looks as if it just rolled out of the factory in Germany. Buy It! One of the three original KITT Firebirds is up for auction

If you’re a child of the ’80s (raises hand) there’s little doubt tyou remember KITT from the Knight Rider television show. The seemingly indestructible black Trans Am was smart, sarcastic, and (for the time) a gee-whiz technological tour de force.Now, one of the original trio of cars built for use as KITT in the small-screen series is headed to the auction block at Julien’s.Starting life as a new-for-’82 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, it was created by Universal Studios and used in tours and appearances promoting the show.
