Thatcher Demko’s breakout season is drawing attention beyond that of the Vancouver Canucks.

The goalie has been selected to play for the Pacific Division at NHL All-Star Weekend next month in Las Vegas, the NHL announced Thursday.

It is Demko’s first career All-Star selection.

Due to the pandemic, there was no All-Star Weekend in 2021. The Canucks sent Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes and Jacob Markstrom to All-Star Weekend 2020, the first time more than one Canuck was named an All-Star since 2012, when Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and Alex Edler were selected.
