BMV closes in green for the fourth consecutive day and records a slight weekly gain


The Mexican stock exchange (BMV) closed with gains for the fourth consecutive day. The stock market advanced a day after the Bank of Mexico raised its key rate by 50 basis points to close the week with a positive balance.

The index reference S&P/BMV IPC, made up of the 35 most traded stocks in the country, moved 0.55% to 49,579.9 points. In the week, from a record of 49,541.81 units last Friday, it accumulated a gain of 0.08 percent.

Within the index, most of the components ended the day with positive performances, with 25 values ​​in green and 10 in red. Banorte titles stood out, with 7.94%; BanBajío, with 4.14%, and Volaris, which gained 4.13 percent.

Outside the index, shares of GMD (Mexican Development Group) registered a strong advance of 20.91 percent. With losses, highlighted Axtel, which moved -11.28 percent. The S&P/BMV IPC accumulated five weekly drops.
