Another Leafs home game postponed as NHL cites ‘Canadian attendance restrictions’

An empty court has caused another Toronto Maple Leafs game to be postponed.

The Leafs and Devils, previously scheduled to play at Scotiabank Arena on Monday, will be rescheduled due to “Canadian attendance restrictions,” according to a statement from the National Hockey League.

The Devils will also see Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens postponed, while Tuesday’s game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Edmonton Oilers will also be postponed.

The games will be played “when such restrictions can be relieved or lifted,” the statement said.

The Leafs and Raptors, and all other Ontario sports teams, saw their capacity limit lowered last week as COVID cases continue to rise in the province and across the country.
