The riding of Iberville had passed into the fold of the PCQ last year when the Coalition avenir Québec had excluded Claire Samson from its caucus, after the latter had donated $100 to the PCQ. The MP then chose to join the party of Éric Duhaime.

The PCQ candidate indicated that she intended to draw inspiration from the work of her predecessor in Iberville.

“I will be inspired by the links she has created with the community and the knowledge she has passed on to me to meet the needs and concerns of people, businesses, businesses and organizations present in the riding” , argued Anne Casabonne.

The latter ran last April for the PCQ in the by-election in Marie-Victorin, finishing fourth behind the CAQ, the Parti Québécois and Québec solidaire.
