Windsor man charged in child pornography investigation

An investigation by the Windsor police Internet Child Exploitation unit has resulted in charges against a local man.

Police said the ICE unit started the case in January after receiving information that a local individual was potentially involved in online offenses.

A residence was identified. Investigators obtained a search warrant for an address in the 1000 block of Ouellette Avenue, where officers seized a number of items as possible evidence.

After further investigation, police identified an adult male suspect.

The man was located and arrested on Thursday around 8:30 am

Donald Avery, 49, of Windsor, is facing charges of accessing child pornography, transmitting child pornography, and possessing child pornography (two counts).
