Mexico registers a new record of Covid-19 infections with 47,113 cases in the last 24 hours

The Health Secretary federal reported that until this Saturday, Mexico accumulates 4 million 349,182 confirmed cases of covid-19 and 301,334 deaths for the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus.

On January 15, a new record was recorded in the number of coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours in the country, reporting 47,113 cases of Covid-19 in this period.

The rate of incidence of accumulated cases it is 3,342.5 per 100,000 inhabitants. Regarding the distribution by sex in the Confirmed cases, a predominance is seen in women with 50.9% of infections and a median age of 39 years.

The federal agency reported in its daily technical report that the entities that accumulate the highest number of accumulated confirmed cases are:

  • Mexico City
  • Mexico state
  • New Lion
  • Guanajuato
  • Jalisco
  • Tabasco
  • Sonora
  • Puebla
  • Veracruz
  • San Luis Potosi

With respect to active cases of Covid-19, that is, those positive cases that began with symptoms in the last 14 days, the Secretariat reported 292,238 active cases, with an incidence rate of 224.6 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The entities that registered the highest rate of active cases per 100,000 inhabitants are:

  • Baja California Sur
  • Mexico City
  • San Luis Potosi
  • Colima
  • Zacatecas
  • Tabasco
  • Nayarit
  • Quintana Roo
  • Coahuila
  • Yucatan

According to the data reported by the agency, in 3 million 420,180 cases, people have recovered from the disease.

Deaths from Covid-19

The Ministry of Health reported 227 coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, to accumulate a total of 301,334 deaths from this disease since the pandemic began in Mexico.

Until this Saturday 13,703 are registered deaths suspected of Covid-19, which include those pending by laboratory and those that are in the process of association-clinical-epidemiological opinion.

Regarding the distribution by sex in confirmed deaths, a predominance in men is shown with 62% of deaths, with a median age of 64 years.
