Mexican peso begins the last day of 2021 with an appreciation of 0.27%

The Mexican peso appreciated on Friday for the fourth consecutive day amid fewer concerns about the economic impact of the pandemic, although in a market reduced by the holiday period at the end of the year.

The coin It was trading at 20.4036 per dollar, with a 0.27% gain versus Thursday’s Reuters benchmark price but was shaping up to end 2021 with a cumulative decline of 2.7 percent.

The better mood in global markets was supported by signs that governments are trying to contain the rapid spread of the Omicron variant without paralyzing productive activities.

In the last four sessions, the Mexican peso adds a return of 1.30 percent.
