The Ontario Prime Minister’s spokesman says Doug Ford and his family have been unable to enter their home for most of the weekend or Monday due to anti-vaccine protesters outside their home.

Ivana Yelich, Ford’s director of media relations, posted a tweet making the claim late Monday.

His tweet was in response to another tweet from an account called “Ont. War Room of the Liberal Party “.

The account had posted a TikTok video in which a woman in a car can be seen pointing a cell phone camera at a man in the driver’s seat asking the prime minister, “Are you heading to the cabin? ? “

The camera points to Ford, who is wearing a Warriors football sweater and mask, and responds, “Yes, I’m going to the cabin, yes,” at the same time the man interrupts, “For the next lockdown?”

Then the woman looks at Ford and says, “That’s fun.”

The video ends immediately after your comment and is only seven seconds long. No other context was provided.

The video is then paired with a comment from the “Ont. Liberal Party War Room ”which reads“ @fordnation has said that we are at war with Omicron. If that’s the case, it would be terribly troublesome if the prime minister went to his cabin as the Ontarians scramble for reinforcements and rapid tests. Perhaps that is the reason why he will not remember the legislature? “

Global News approached the prime minister’s office, but received no immediate response.

The social media post comes as Ford recently imposed new restrictions including a 50 percent ability for most companies to slow the spread of the new Omicron variant, which has taken over the province in no time.

There has also been an increase in people seeking booster shots as eligibility expanded on Monday due to a resurgence of positive COVID-19 cases and as people try to secure free rapid tests before the holidays.

Over the past three days, 3,784 new cases were reported on Monday, 4,177 cases on Sunday, and 3,301 on Saturday.

The Ontario COVID-19 Science Table, a panel of physicians advising the provincial government, noted in its dashboard that Omicron now accounts for at least 88 percent of all positive cases, compared to Friday, when it was around 50 percent.
