Principal Stéphane Brault sent an email Sunday night to the students’ parents informing them of the decision to close the school.
The email indicates that the Châteauguay police have been informed of the situation and are investigating.
The school is closed for the day as “a precautionary measure to allow the police to do their jobs in the best conditions,” the email read. “We know this will require reorganizing your family plans on Monday, but given the context, we prefer to ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
Châteauguay police said the threat was directed at two staff members and that efforts were underway to determine the origin of the message.
