“Suspected Gang Member” Charged With Threats, Vancouver Police Say – BC | The Canadian News

Vancouver police say a dramatic arrest at a downtown condo tower Friday night was the result of a “suspected gang member” making threats.

Officers arrived at 777 Richards Street around 4 p.m., some with rifles drawn, following a report of a threatened person, according to police.

The officers came out about three hours later with two handcuffed men.

On Sunday, police said 29-year-old Seyed Moshfeghi Zadeh had been charged with one count of threatening.

A press release described Zadeh as a “suspected gang member” but did not provide further details on the allegations.

Members of VPD’s own gang unit and the Unified Gang Enforcement Team of the provincial Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit were on the scene during the arrest.

Zadeh remains in police custody pending his next court appearance.
