Abakar Kazbekov broke a 3-3 tie with less than five minutes remaining in the third period when the London Knights defeated Attack 4-3 at Owen Sound on Saturday night.
After a loss in London less than 24 hours earlier, the Attack flew off and struck at 28 seconds into the game with an Ethan Burroughs shot that crashed under Brett Brochu.
Luke Evangelista stopped the Owen Sound wave with a goal at 3:53 of period one. Knights defender Jackson Edward put the puck into the attack net and Evangelista found a way to hit it behind the great Mack Guzda to make it 1-1.

Meet the London Knights: three preseason transfers
After not leading at all in the first game between the teams, London took the lead in a monumental moment for Stuart Rolofs when he scored his first goal in the Ontario Hockey League. Sean McGurn’s shot was stopped, but Rolofs went to work on the side of the net to score the maximum goal of Thanksgiving weekend as Rolofs kept filling in until the puck crossed the goal line.
A power play goal from Denis Goure at 1:58 of the second period tied the game for the second time before Evangelista’s second restored London’s lead at 3-2.
Once again the Attack fought back when Logan LeSage found Thomas Chafe for his first OHL goal with less than seven minutes remaining in the second period to send things into the final period tied 3-3.
Teams came and went in the final period until Connor Federkow sent a pass to Kazbekov on the right side of the ice and used a fast pitch to beat Guzda for the game winner.
London edged Owen Sound 43-32.
Brett Brochu has now won 24 of his last 25 starts.
100 percent capacity
Following the October 8 announcement from the Ontario government regarding capacity limits within certain locations, the Ontario Hockey League has decided to allow full capacity for all of its Ontario-based facilities.
That will mean there will be single game tickets available to fans before the London Knights’ next home game on October 15 against Windsor. The Knights have stated that they will have information on single game ticket sales next week.
Knights season ticket holders will receive team information on Wednesday.

Following in daddy’s footsteps
Jon Sim wore some pretty big shoes when he played for the Ontario Hockey League in the mid-1990s.
Sim racked up consecutive 50-goal seasons and still ranks 103rd all-time in league scoring with 311 points from just 211 games. It also had 353 PIMs.
London striker Landon Sim took just a while and a bit to score his first goal at OHL and is now just 310 points behind his father with one career ahead. Sim grew up in Nova Scotia and was a Knights third-round pick in 2020. Knights general manager Mark Hunter coached Jon at Sarnia.
