Assassination of the Haitian president: the prosecutor requests the indictment of Ariel Henry

The attorney general of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday asked the judge investigating the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse to charge Prime Minister Ariel Henry, over phone calls he allegedly had with one of the main suspects of murder.

Bed-Ford Claude, the commissioner of the government of Port-au-Prince – equivalent of the prosecutor – also asked that Mr. Henry be prohibited from leaving Haitian territory “because of the gravity of the facts exposed”. President Moïse was shot dead on July 7 by an armed commando at his home in Port-au-Prince.

Further details will follow.
