Chef Christophe Leroy sentenced to two years in prison for concealed work

Chef Christophe Leroy, close to the jet set in Saint-Tropez, was sentenced, Tuesday, September 14, to two years’ suspended imprisonment for work concealed by the Draguignan criminal court, but was released from the head of fraudulent bankruptcy. He was accused in particular of not having declared the salaries of his employees to Urssaf, or of having minimized them, in establishments in Ramatuelle, Saint-Tropez and Paris, between 2013 and 2015. In addition to a fine of 3,000 euros, the media chief will have to pay the sum of 159,545 euros to Urssaf.

Mr. Leroy was also convicted of forgery and use of forgery for having drawn up a false certificate. While his company was in receivership, he had sent the legal representative a letter attesting that the situation was settled with a lessor, which was not the case. He will have to pay 5,110 euros in damages to this Parisian lessor. He has an obligation to work to pay the fines and reimbursements imposed on him. He is also prohibited from running a business for ten years.

“There were very dark moments”

On September 2, during the hearing, three years of suspended imprisonment had been requested against him. “We are satisfied with this decision”, reacted his lawyer Thierry Fradet, of the Toulon bar. “Mr. Leroy is released from the head of bankruptcy prevention, it was the most infamous request. “

Born in Coutances, in La Manche, this son of peasants now aged 57, and who had been the grand organizer of the wedding dinner of singer Johnny Hallyday in 1990 in Ramatuelle, explained during the hearing to have known “Periods of success. The chef now works at Leroy’s Business Club, in Paris, alongside his new partner, where he is “In CDI” and said to receive a salary included “Between 1,000 and 2,000 euros” per month.
