2022, year of tourist reactivation for Quintana Roo: CPTQ


Cancun, QR. The Mexican Caribbean participated in IMEX Frankfurt, the most important Meeting Tourism event in Europe that took place from May 31 to June 2, after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

With a desk for buyers and event organizers inside the Mexican Pavilion, the tourist destinations of Quintana Roo were present at this fair that celebrated its 20th anniversary and where exhibitors representing more than 100 countries and more than 2,800 buyers from events.

“Our participation in this fair will allow us to continue recovering one of the most affected segments of the pandemic, which was meetings, with which we hope to consolidate 2022 as the great year of the state’s tourist reactivation,” said Darío Flota Ocampo, director general of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo (CPTQ).

Through one-on-one business meetings, work meetings were held with different event organizers from countries such as Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Brazil, the United States and Canada who seek to bring their events and groups to destinations that offer quality in infrastructure, services and activities such as those found in the Mexican Caribbean.

In the case of Europe, explained Flota Ocampo, the Mexican Caribbean has a direct connection with 18 cities, including the main airports such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Madrid, Lisbon and Paris.

Quintana Roo is the ideal destination for the organization of large national and international events, it has three convention centers and more than 130 hotels with a total capacity of 166,369 square meters for holding events, in addition to various attractions.
