It was around 7:00 p.m. that a call was made to 911. The incident occurred on Ward Street, not far from the intersection with Alexis-Nihon Boulevard.

Upon their arrival at the scene, officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) located the victim, a 22-year-old young man. “He was injured in the lower body by a sharp object,” said spokesperson for the police force, Véronique Comtois.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, where there is no fear for his life now.

According to the first information obtained, an altercation would have taken place in the early evening between the young man and several other people inside a residential building, in a common area. “A young woman was arrested at the scene. She will be met by investigators, who will try to determine her involvement in this affair, ”said Mme Comtois.

No other arrest has yet been made, but an investigation has been opened to try to understand the exact circumstances of this event.

One thing is certain: the scene was protected to let investigators work and traffic was therefore diverted into the surrounding area. The teams will be assisted in particular by a forensic identification technician and a dog handler to search for additional clues.
