TORONTO – A youth-led rally calling for urgent climate action by leaders at all levels of government is expected in the Ontario legislature today.
Fridays For Future Toronto is hosting the rally and march, which will begin at Queen’s Park at 12:30 pm
Organizer Alienor Rougeout says the rally is an opportunity for people to demand urgent action from politicians to address issues related to climate change.

She says the rally will also call on the recently re-elected liberal federal government to deliver on the climate promises it made during the recent election campaign.
Those behind the rally are also calling for action that includes adding climate justice to Ontario’s education curriculum for all grades, ending evictions from camps in Toronto, and full implementation of the Commission’s calls to action. of Truth and Reconciliation.
Similar demonstrations are planned in locations across the country as part of the #FridaysForFuture school strike movement, which began in August 2018.
