Re: other countries drop their mask mandates, column, Oct 24

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your article on lifting the mask mandate sooner rather than later.

I am medically exempt from wearing a mask and have been through hell in the last year and a half just making essential purchases. I’ve been praying for the command to get up so I don’t have to be completely stressed out while trying to buy food. If I could wear a mask I would, however I don’t go near anyone and wash my hands too much, to be honest. I also wear a tag with my name to say that I am medically exempt.

This province is doing very well, as 86% of us are fully vaccinated.

So to all the nasty people who thought it was your business to confront me, shake your head in disgust, or literally jump out of my way even though I’m not around you, I say that I hope you never have to experience what I’ve been through.

I totally agree with Anthony Furey in saying that those of you who are not comfortable taking off your mask, of course continue to wear it, but there are some of us who cannot wear one.

CHARMAINE ROOM

(Stay well. The end is in sight).

TAKE A WALK TOGETHER

With winter coming soon, I really hope that Doug (“My friends, I’ll go whichever direction the wind blows”) Ford and Andrea (“I have nothing to offer, but I object to anything Doug Ford says or does. ”) Horwath could hold hands and take a walk together through the snow.

Ontario voters need better options in next year’s election, and I really can’t bear to listen to these two.

THE FEAR OF THE JAB

More and more I have come to believe that probably 25 percent of Canadians (and probably the same percentage in other countries) suffer from trypanophobia – fear of needles. So before we mercilessly condemn the unvaccinated, let’s take that into consideration.

I have not seen that mentioned at any time during this COVID-19 pandemic. It could be a deal breaker. If we accept the other phobias without hesitation, shouldn’t we recognize this as significant to the unvaccinated?

(Uh, okay)

IT’S THE PPC FOR ME

I’ve been addicted to politics since the third grade, first supporting the NDP and then when I got to voting age, blindly supporting the liberals before switching to the conservatives in my 30s. Well I’m done with the gang that couldn’t shoot straight. It talks about a lot of political misfits, with a few exceptions like the brilliant Pierre Poilievre.

Progressives have kidnapped the Conservative Party, especially those behind the scenes, starting with Cory Hann, who treated the fledgling Rebel News as if it were an offshoot of al-Qaeda. Erin O’Toole is a liberal in conservative clothes. The party is drifting aimlessly into the political abyss, and I am completely finished. PPC is where I have bet.
