“It’s a delicious combination of music, the food of that era and the story behind it all,” said maestro Robert Franz. “There is something for everyone in every episode. This concert series is for the foodie, music lover and storyteller in all of us. “

Tickets are now available for “The Music. The history. The food.”

The seven-part series was created by Franz and Dr. Rob Nelson, cook and historian at the University of Windsor.

Franz will set the stage with stories about the composers, their music and the times in which they lived.

Nelson will highlight food connected to music, from feta cheesecake to Manchego cheese, seafood stew, chicken and meatballs. Tune in to find out why we put ketchup on pizza and where the real hot chocolate comes from.

Viewers will also receive recipes to cook at home while watching the WSO performance.

If you don’t feel like cooking, the WSO suggests ordering from one of its partner restaurants, including Caffeine and Co., The Cheese Bar, Lagos Grill, Nico Taverna, Thanasi’s Olympus Greek Restaurant, Thyme Kitchen, or Windsor Cake Emporium.

The series will be available from January 14 to March 31.
