Winnipeg homicide investigators are investigating the death of a man at an Alexander Avenue residence.
Police said they were called by a man who had been seriously injured in the 300 block of Alexander shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday. Officers found the man dead.

This marks Winnipeg’s 43rd homicide in 2021.
Const. Jay Murray told 680 CJOB that seeing such a high number is concerning.
“There is a reflection in the level of violence that we are seeing,” Murray said.
“The nature of the homicides is that they are also partially random. Having a homicide count in your 40s is worrisome and something we don’t like to see. “
