Winnipeg Nursing Home Limits Visits Due to COVID-19 Cases – Winnipeg | The Canadian News

A Winnipeg nursing home is restricting visitation after two workers tested positive for COVID-19.

Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface said the nursing home is undergoing further risk assessments.

“Residents who may have been exposed are being closely monitored for symptoms. We will contact you if your loved one develops any symptoms and requires a COVID-19 test, ”the care center wrote on its website.

“This represents another very difficult decision, but protecting residents, their families and staff from the increased risk of Omicron infections must take priority,” the statement added.

For now, officials will only allow virtual and in-person visits at the end of life.

They will continue to reassess the situation and provide updates as they become available.

Virtual visits can be made at 204-235-4605 or [email protected]

The news comes after Manitoba posted a daily record of 742 COVID-19 cases on Dec. 24.
