Winnipeg Jets’ Home Games Jan 8-10 Postponed Due to COVID-19 – Winnipeg | The Canadian News

The National Hockey League announced the postponement of nine Canadian games Tuesday afternoon, two of which include the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets were scheduled to host the Seattle Kraken in a clash Saturday night January 8, followed by a Tuesday night battle with the Minnesota Wild on January 10.

Both games are being moved by the league in an effort to have fans in the stands when the puck drops.

Several provinces, including Manitoba, banned spectators at major sporting events until mid-January early in the week.

The Montreal Canadiens are hit the hardest by the new postponements, as four games in a six-day period were carried over to later dates.

A home game between Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa will also be postponed.

The NHL says make-up dates for the nine postponed games will be determined in the coming weeks.

The Jets will not return to action until Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.
