Windsor Regional Hospital adjusts visitation policy

Windsor Regional Hospital is adjusting its visitation policy at both the Met and Ouellette campuses to allow for designation of two essential caregivers for each patient.

The change will also apply to the Regional Cancer Center and takes effect stating right after midnight on Monday morning.

While each patient will be allowed to have two designated essential caregivers they must rotate so that only one caregiver is allowed bedside at any given time.

The change replaces the no visitation policy which went into effect on Dec. 30 due to escalation of the spread of COVID-19.

For patients who are under end of life or palliative care, four essential caregivers can be designated with a maximum of two allowed bedside at any given time.

Still required are documented proof of COVID-19 vaccination with at least the second dose given 14 days prior or a negative community-based PCR taken within three days before their visit.

Visitation hours are limited to 8 am to 10 am or 6 pm to 8 pm For those patients in critical care, visitation is 10 am to noon and 8 pm to 10 pm
