Windsor Police Seek Public Assistance in Collision Investigation

The Windsor Police Service is seeking the public’s help in continuing an investigation into a two-vehicle collision Sunday night in which a driver fled the scene of the accident.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Dougall Avenue and Nottingham Street. The vehicle that fled the area was a green Ford F-150 pickup. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

Officers quickly located the suspect and vehicle in the 3200 block of Longfellow Avenue and arrested the driver without incident.

A 37-year-old Windsor resident has been charged with:

-Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated;

-Operation in poor condition with a blood alcohol concentration greater than 80 milligrams;

-Breach of a commitment: being out of the residence with alcohol in the body.

The defendant also faces a charge of failing to stay at the scene of a collision, contrary to the Highway Traffic Law.

Anyone in the area of ​​the collision or in the 3200 block of Longfellow Avenue with video surveillance is asked to check their cameras for possible evidence.
