Windsor police are continuing to investigate after a pickup truck went over the embankment on Riverside Drive and crashed into the riverfront plaza Sunday morning.

The incident occurred shortly after 8:30 am when the vehicle is believed to be traveling north toward the river on McDougall Street.

“Police are investigating an accident in which it appears the driver went through the railing and into the plaza,” said Sgt. Richard Antal of the Windsor Police.

The white van ended up on its roof just west of the riverfront bandshell.

“A male driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” Antal said.

No further information was released pending investigation.
