Windsor driver charged after multi-vehicle crash on 401

A Windsor driver is one of two people who have been charged as a result of a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 401 last week.

OPP said the April 21 crash involved three transport trucks and two passenger vehicles on the 401 in the Chatham-Kent area — between Victoria Road and Kent Bridge Road.

The incident took place during clear driving conditions in the afternoon hours — around 2:45 pm

All lanes of the 401 in the area of ​​the incident were closed for about four hours while OPP and other emergency personnel dealt with the scene.

Despite the vehicles involved being heavily damaged, only two people were injured, and their injuries were considered minor.

OPP said a 41-year-old Windsor resident was subsequently charged with careless driving.

A 55-year-old Elora resident was also charged with following too closely.
