WIFF Director Appointed to Ontario Creates Board of Directors

Windsor International Film Festival Executive Director Vincent Georgie may add another title to his job listing: Ontario Creates Board Member.

Georgie was appointed by Ontario Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell. Ontario Creates, an agency funded by the province, supports job creation and economic opportunity in creative fields such as film, music, television, publishing, and digital media.

Georgie, who is also a member of the Odette School of Business faculty and Acting Associate Vice President for External Affairs at the University of Windsor, said he considers his new appointment a “great honor” and believes Ontario Creates has “an impact. tangible in art and culture in our province ”.

The Ontario Creates board member serves three-year terms and is eligible for a new appointment.

Georgie said that promoting the creative economy has always been a core principle for WIFF.

“I look forward to supporting the great work of Ontario Creates in their mission to create jobs and economic investment opportunities in the province,” added Georgie.
