Wife of “El Bronco” promotes amparo against arrest warrant

The First District Judge in Criminal Matters in the State of Nuevo León, Víctor Hugo Alejo, received and admitted for processing an amparo filed by Adalina Teresa Davalos Martinezwife of the former governor of Nuevo León, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, against any arrest warrant or request to appear against him.

“The demand for guarantees is admitted regarding acts not considered urgent processing (arrest warrant, detention, presentation and/or appearance)”, referred to file 236/2022.

On March 15, the former presidential candidate and former independent governor of Nuevo León was arrested at his ranch in the General de Terán municipality, and later admitted to the Apodaca prison. Jaime Rodriguez Calderonaccused of crimes embezzlement, damage to state assets and coalition with the purpose of collecting signatures of support to achieve registration as a candidate for the Presidency in 2018.

The legal remedy promoted by Dávalos Martínez, wife of the former governor, has the purpose of avoiding that, in the event that the Nuevo Leon Prosecutor’s Office had an investigation against him and asked a judge for his appearance or arrest warrant, these are not executed.
