On Friday night, the Oilers superstar surprised fans, and even himself, with one of the most beautiful goals in recent memory.

With the clock ticking at the end of the third period and his team trailing 5-4, McDavid stripped down not one, not two, not three, but four New York Rangers before shoving the puck into a hapless Alexandar Georgiev. The Oilers would defeat the Rangers in overtime, improving their record to the best 9-1 in the Western Conference.

Oilers defender Darnell Nurse was also impressed. “He will downplay it,” he told reporters after the game. “But that was … probably the best goal I’ve ever seen.”

Oh, and McDavid also added two assists, bringing his point total for the season to 22. That puts him on track for around 185 points.
