The woman, a 22-year-old South Vancouver resident, was waiting at a bus stop when a man wearing a puffy red jacket with a fur-lined hood approached and showed her a condom and a pornographic picture on her phone.

“When the woman refused and walked away, the man kicked her from behind and threw her to the ground,” police said.

“The violent and sexual nature of this incident has us very concerned about public safety,” said Sgt. Steve Addison. “We are telling the public about this case, because we are concerned that someone else might get hurt.”

The woman was not injured and was able to flee. The suspect also fled.

Police posted a picture of the suspect from a nearby business and asked anyone who recognized him to call VPD’s sex crimes unit at 604-717-0600.
