Video shows pensioner kicked when bouncers hit man on floor

A pensioner is kicked by goalkeepers as they beat a man to the ground in footage that has surfaced online.

The 19-second video appears to have been taken at Temple Court, just off Mathew Street in the city centre. The video, shared widely on social media in recent days, begins with two men, who appear to be goalkeepers, bending over a man wearing a gray T-shirt on the ground.

One of the goalkeepers punches the man to the ground while another appears to hold him down. A few seconds later, the video shows the goalkeeper, to the left of the man on the ground, grabbing him by the back of the neck and kneeing him in the face.

He then grabs him by the face and repeatedly punches the man. The man in the gray blouse falls on his side, where the clip shows the goalkeeper kicking him in the chest.

Another goalkeeper punches him in the face again. At about 13 seconds into the video, a retiree appears to try to break up the fight and approaches the goalkeeper to stop him. The ECHO understands that the scenes took place on Saturday, April 2, but the images have only recently emerged.

The clip shows another goalkeeper kicking the older man from behind. The man on the ground gets up and walks away.

It is unclear what may have occurred before filming began. Many people were shocked by the incident after it was shared on social media.

People in the video can be heard telling them to “stop” and others can be heard screaming as the incident unfolds. One person told ECHO this was not a true reflection of Liverpool nightlife and others described the scene as “disgusting”.
