Vandalized TTC Elevators Expected to Return to Service Friday – Toronto | The Canadian News

Several TTC elevators that were vandalized are expected to be back in service Friday night.

TTC spokesman Stuart Green said on Twitter that teams were able to use plywood to make temporary arrangements as parts are ordered.

Green had said Wednesday that the vandalism would affect service at the stations for two to four weeks while crews waited for necessary parts.

But with the temporary repairs, the vandalized elevators at Bayview, Broadview, Queen, Sheppard and Spadina stations are back in service. Everyone is expected to be working Friday night.

Elevators at 10 stations were initially reported to have been vandalized, but damage was discovered Thursday morning at 11, Green said.

Green said the surveillance video was downloaded and the TTC “will prosecute if the culprit is found.”
