“Three people were taken to hospital the night of this collision for non-life-threatening injuries,” said Const. Tania Visintin, a spokesperson for the VPD. “All three have since been released and are recovering at home.”

As the driver of a Toyota Matrix was making a left turn on East 57th Avenue from Fraser Street, he was struck by the driver of a Honda CR-V that was traveling south on Fraser Street at around 9 pm on Thursday, according to police.

Investigators believe speed was the main cause of this collision.

Anyone who witnessed this collision or anyone with dash cam footage from April 27 between 8:30 and 9:30 pm is asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
