Vancouver police are investigating the death of a man in a restaurant’s self-service service early Wednesday morning.

In a press release, police say Vancouver fire rescue services were called to a McDonald’s restaurant around 5:30 a.m.

Police say video footage shows the man dropping something from his car window while paying for an order.

The car moved forward after he got out of the vehicle and collided with part of the restaurant.

They say the man was trapped between the door and the frame of the car.

Police say first responders tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene.

“This is an absolutely heartbreaking scenario,” Const. Tania Visintin said in the statement. “Our condolences to the family and friends of this man.”
