US Senate endorses gun control bill

The United States Senate made progress Thursday night against the gun violence epidemic by passing some restrictions on gun sales and earmarking funds for mental health and school safety.

The regulations approved by 65 votes in favor and 33 against, and that will almost certainly be ratified by the House of Representatives on Friday, do not satisfy the demands of opponents of guns and President Joe Biden, but are considered an advance after almost 30 years of inertia in Congress.
