The US Secretary of Justice announced Thursday that he has filed a lawsuit against Texas to seek the cancellation of a law that bans virtually all abortions in this conservative state.
This law, which entered into force on September 1, “is clearly unconstitutional with regard to the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court” and “the Department of Justice is responsible for defending the Constitution of the United States”, justified the secretary for the Justice, Merrick Garland, at a press conference.
