Distance yourself from a problem to check its true dimension. back from annual meeting of the American Society for Cancer Research (AACR) held in New Orleans, a city that is still recovering from the impact of Hurricane Katrina’ in 2005, I sit in my office to reflect a little. More than 10,000 researchers gathered at the convention center and shared their latest discoveries. For the youngest, it is a splendid opportunity to be exposed to all the science that is being developed in the area of ​​cancer. My first memories of it, now that I have been a member of the American association for 25 years, are still indelible. What excitement! What happiness! Then age, unfortunately, tempers everything. But in any case, I would like to briefly point out some of the points and most interesting finds and featured in this excellent meeting.
