Up to 30 centimeters of snow in southern and eastern Quebec

A big snowstorm is coming to southern, central and eastern Quebec, where accumulations could reach up to 30 centimeters in places during the weekend.

The storm will affect Estrie, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Quebec and Sept-Îles the hardest, while in the greater Montreal area, Montérégie, Mauricie and part of the Outaouais, snow could be mixed with rain. , even freezing rain.

According to a special weather report issued by Environment Canada, 10 to 15 centimeters of snow are expected by Saturday evening in Montreal, Montérégie and Mauricie, with precipitation beginning tonight or next night.

But it is in the east of the province where large accumulations are expected during the weekend, affecting in particular the sectors of Estrie, Beauce and Bas-Saint-Laurent which could receive up to 30 centimeters of snow.

In Quebec, Saguenay and on the North Shore, 15 to 25 centimeters of snow are expected with strong winds in places from Saturday to Sunday morning, when temperatures will drop.
