University of Manitoba Sets Class Schedule Following Strike Conclusion – Winnipeg | The Canadian News

University of Manitoba students head on vacation with more certainty about their class schedule than they have in a long time.

The university approved a new schedule after a strike that paralyzed some classes for more than a month.

A statement posted on the university’s website says that students will be able to have their full winter break, also known as Reading Week, from February 22-25, 2022.

The usual vacation break will take place between December 24 and January 4.

To accommodate the full Reading Week schedule, the statement goes on to say that the winter quarter testing period was compressed and testing is now restricted to no more than two hours.

The story continues below the ad.

The students had previously expressed concern about a possible move that would have meant fewer days off to recharge.

A detailed calendar is available at the university website.
