Uncertainty in Sudan after the arrest of the prime minister by the military

On Monday, a group of soldiers arrested Sudan’s Prime Minister, Abdullah Hamdok, and four of his ministers in their respective homes, in what appears to be a coup.

Among those arrested is the person in charge of the Interior Affairs portfolio, Khaled Omar Yusef, and the Minister of Industry, Ibrahim Al Sheikh, Alarabiya collects.

For its part, the Sudanese Professionals Association is calling on the population to go out into the streets in support of the Government and the civil authority of the country.
