Two men, ages 18 and 19, were seriously injured early Friday after a fire broke out in a building under renovation in Lachute.
The fire in the commercial building was reported to the Sûreté du Québec around 3:45 am. An SQ spokesperson said police received a report that two men had been seen near the site and appeared to be seriously injured.
The men were found to be severely burned and taken to hospital in critical condition, police said.
The investigation into the fire continues, the origin of which has been considered suspicious by the police.
