SQEES and SCFP contracts include annual salary increases of two percent.
Two FTQ-affiliated health unions have signed a new collective agreement affecting 50,000 members.
The Syndicat québécois des Employés de service (SQEES) said Thursday that its 25,000 members were “eager to benefit from the benefits that were negotiated … after 19 months without a contract.”
The new agreement, from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023, includes salary increases of two percent per year. It also includes various bonuses and a salary increase for orderlies and assistants.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Syndicat de la fonction publique (SCFP), FTQ’s largest union, signed a new agreement for its 26,000 members in health and social services, who ratified the agreement in June. It also includes salary increases of two percent per year and a new salary structure in the third year that includes additional increases for those at the lower end of the salary scale.
