Two dead and several injured leaves a shooting in a famous gay bar in Norway


Two people were killed and around 10 wounded in a shooting at a nightclub in the Norwegian capital on Saturday. Oslolocal police said.

Public broadcaster NRK and other local media reported that the shooting took place in the london puba popular gay bar and nightclub in the city center.

A suspect was detained nearby, police said. It was not immediately clear what the motive for the attack was.

Oslo is scheduled to hold its annual Gay and Transgender Pride parade later on Saturday.

“Two people have been confirmed dead,” the Oslo police department said in a tweet.

Three people were seriously injured, police told reporters at the scene, the VG newspaper reported.

Oslo University Hospital said it had gone on red alert after the shooting.
