Two dead and one seriously injured when run over after a multiple accident on the AP-7

Two people have died and a third is in serious condition after being run over on the AP-7 motorway, near Tarragona, just after a multiple accident in which five vehicles have been involved. The accident happened last Saturday at 10:28 p.m. at kilometer 243 of the AP-7. During the ‘diada’ of Sant Jordi, five people have died in traffic accidents in Catalonia.

These two dead people have been run over as pedestrians, that is to say, that at the time of the crash they were walking on the highway. Sources from the Servei Català de Trànsit have informed EFE that the investigation into this event should determine whether the dead and the injured were inside the vehicles involved in the multiple collision or They stopped to help the injured, got out of their vehicles and were run over at that time. The person who was injured was transferred in serious condition to the Joan XXIII hospital in Tarragona.

The Servei Català de Trànsit reminds you that it is forbidden to walk on highways and motorways, and that if you do, you must go with a reflective vest or a flashlight, especially at night. It also recommends that if you have to walk you have to do it on the platform or using the left lane. So far this year they have died 49 people on Catalan roads. Before the accident in Tarragona, the ‘dyad’ of Sant Jordi had already been a particularly tragic day: a minor was run over while riding a scooter and two other people died in a head-on collision in Moià.
