Twitter CEO to get $42 million if fired after Elon Musk deal


The CEO of Twitter Inc., Parag Agrawalhe would make an estimated $42 million if he were fired within 12 months of a change of control at the social media company, according to the research firm Equilar.

the billionaire Elon Musk reached a deal on Monday to buy Twitter for $44 billion, ending its run as a public company since 2013.

In a securities presentation on April 14, Musk had said that he did not trust the management of Twitter.

Equilar’s estimate includes one year’s worth of Agrawal’s base salary plus the accelerated vesting of all stock awards, an Equilar spokesman said, based on Agrawal’s offer price. Musk of $54.20 per share and the terms in the company’s recent proxy statement.

A Twitter representative declined to comment on Equilar’s estimate.

Agrawal, formerly CTO of Twitter, was named CEO in November. His total compensation for 2021 was $30.4 million, according to a Twitter statement, much of it in stock awards.
