Twelve travelers on the connecting train Barcelona and Girona and circulating to the French border town of Portbou have been injured of a slight nature when the convoy collided with a fallen tree on the road, as reported by Renfe this Monday.
The injured have been treated by members of the Medical Emergency System (SEM) at the scene of the accident, between Sils and Caldes, although one traveler has been transferred to the Santa Caterina hospital and another has had to be evacuated by helicopter to the Trueta de Girona.
According to Renfe sources, the latter wounded found it difficult to walk and it was impossible to transport him in a 4×4, for which he has finally been evacuated by helicopter to Girona.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Monday, when the train, with about 230 passengers on board, collided with a fallen tree in the area of tracks, which has forced to interrupt circulation in both directions of the march between Sils and Caldes.
Renfe is managing an alternative road service to evacuate all these people. The buses are already in the place indicated by the Mossos d’Esquadra, which will guide them to the meeting point with the Firefighters who are transferring travelers in their vehicles from the area where the incident occurred.
