Toyota returns to the mini SUV segment in Mexico with its Corolla Cross

With the bet to “hack” the segment of the mini SUV’s, Toyota launches the Mexican market Corolla Cross, after having conquered consumers in Japan, Brazil, South Africa and the United States.

The Japanese automaker expects to sell 3,800 Corolla Cross in its first year of introduction to the Mexican market, in which it strengthens its position number four as the largest auto sales company by volume.

“With Corolla Cross we want to“ hack ”the Mini SUV segment, breaking in with a product backed by the confidence of the Corolla nameplate. We are sure that it will win over our customers in Mexico due to its equipment and style, so our sales expectation for its first year is to exceed 3,800 units, ”said Guillermo Díaz, Vice President of Operations for Toyota Motor Sales de México.

The company already markets its sedan Corolla in Mexico and also its hybrid version, however, given the demand and increase in the preference for small SUVs among Mexican consumers, Toyota announced the introduction of a new model that attacks this segment.

The Japanese brand wanted to return to the world of Mini SUV with a launch worthy of the second segment with greater acceptance within the automotive industry of our country, and what better way to do it with the support of the best-selling car in the world, said the director of Toyota.

With the Corolla Cross, Toyota returns to the world of small SUVs and be a fierce competitor, since it has the safety guarantee of Toyota cars by having 9 airbags, hill start assists (HAC), stability control (VSC).

“Corolla Cross becomes the fourth vehicle of the brand in our country with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which includes Cruise Control (DRCC), Automatic High Beams (AHB), Pre-Collision System (PCS) and Maintenance System of Lane (LDA w / SA) ”, highlighted Guillermo Díaz.

The mini SUV will begin to be sold from this December and it will be available at 98 Toyota outlets, with a single version, the LE, which will cost 469,900 pesos
